Mission Statement
At High Tech High Chula Vista, we believe athletics is more than just competition—it is a platform for personal growth, teamwork, and integrity. Our program fosters a culture where students develop essential life skills such as communication, leadership, resilience, humility, and focus. Through sports, our athletes learn to navigate challenges, collaborate with others, and build character that extends beyond the game.
At HTHCV, equity is at the heart of our athletics program. We are committed to providing all students with an inclusive and supportive environment where every athlete has the opportunity to succeed. Our teams cultivate a sense of belonging, mutual respect, and collective responsibility, ensuring that each player is valued and empowered.
Our commitment to this mission is reflected in three core principles:
💪🏽
Accountability & Commitment
We follow through on our commitments, showing up prepared to work hard and support our teammates.
đź’—
Community & Inclusion
We create a culture of camaraderie, where kindness, respect, and inclusivity define our teams.
đź’Ż
Integrity & Excellence
We compete with honor, carrying ourselves with self-respect, grace, and the unwavering pursuit of growth.
Together, we are more than athletes—we are a team, a community, and a family.
Together, we are
The Bruins
Upcoming Sports officially starts July 31st. Dates noted below only reflect conditioning for that particular sport. All students are welcome to attend. If you don’t have any previous experience or no desire to participate in our competitive season, no worries you can still come out and participate in our conditioning programs.
Parent info Meeting for Fall season sports will be held on July 15, 2024 in person. We have a lot of new things to cover and this is a chance to meet the coaches and make team connections. Refreshments will be served. This is mandatory for all student-athletes and at least one adult is asked to attend.Â
***This is only for Fall sports. All other sports will be announced at a later date. Assistant coaches and team parents are always needed. Please email Shameka Thompson shthompson@hightechhigh.org if interested.Â
Any student planning to participate in any sports in the 2025-26 school year must have a completed profile on Athletic Clearance.
Physical forms can be found here on our HTHCV Athletics website.Â
All participants must have a current profile with an updated physical to participate in sports. Coaches can not approve your clearance; it must be cleared through the CRASH office prior to participation.
